Let me start by saying that I’m humbled by the wonderful people who are being generous enough to help sponsor Wake-N-Bake Racing Mountain bike team for 2008. I’m starting to realize that I’m filling a void in mountain biking in the southeast. The goal was to build an elite mountain bike team with the help of a few local companies. But what I’ve discovered is that I’m running a second business. Don’t get me wrong I’m loving it. I’ve got 4 incredibly talented riders that have agreed to put up with me for at least a year…if they sign on the dotted line. I won’t force them and they know the risk.

I’m still finalizing all the sponsors for 2008, but we are going to make a presence in the south and we hope to take it to the national level also. Wake-N-Bake racing’s main sponsor is Terrapin Beer Company. Wake-N-Bake is a seasonal beer that has Jittery Joe’s coffee in it, and is distributed by Terrapin Beer company in the winter time. Jittery Joe’s has given Wake-N-Bake racing the go ahead to sell the coffee to help raise money for the team. Look for us at a Mountain Bike race near you.
